About 30 years ago my father gave me a Pentax SP1000. A 35mm camera built close to when I was born. I quickly fell in love with the world through the viewfinder. I started with a 28mm lens to try and capture my wide enviroment and a 85-205mm zoom lens to compose scenes at more of a distance. The zoom lens also has a macro zone at the short end that started me noticing the small things in life. I then start to see in these focal lengths. I was slightly overwhelmed with all the dials and numbers on the camera but my dad had confidence in me. The process soon became intuitive. The other gift I received with the camera was a stack of books referring to many aspects of photography. I then began to experiment with creating images inspired by all these genres.

Moving forward with my love for the outdoors and a new way to see light, form and compostion. Friends on skateboards and hikes in nature became my subjects along with anything that looked interesting enough to photograph. From there the journey continues to all different cameras, films and focal lengths to create imagery. Welcoming the digital world and blending old techniques keeps me learning. The craft has many avenues to explore and is constantly evolving. My latest direction has been creating unique lighting situations and producing photographic art from my experience.
